Golf Trips to Portugal
Portugal is one of Europe’s most captivating golf destinations—a place where year-round sunshine meets dramatic Atlantic coastlines. From the golden beaches and championship resorts of the Algarve to the rugged seaside cliffs and wine-country charm around Lisbon and Cascais, golfers can experience two distinct styles of golf within easy reach.
Some of Europe’s most sought-after courses await here, including Monte Rei, West Cliffs, Oitavos Dunes, and Quinta do Lago South—all of which can be added to your custom itinerary. Off the fairways, Portugal offers coastal villages, world-class seafood, fado music, port-wine tastings, and vibrant city life in Lisbon and Porto, making it equally appealing for non-golfing companions. Every element—golf, culture, food, and exploration—can be woven into a trip shaped entirely around your preferences.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to begin planning your Portugal golf trip, including top-course overviews, an interactive map (desktop only) with driving distances, weather insights, and more. Scroll down to explore—your perfect trip begins here.

Where should I stay?
Hotel accommodations in Portugal can feel a bit different from what you might expect in the U.S. While city hotels, particularly in Lisbon and Porto, tend to have smaller rooms and bathrooms, golf resorts in the Algarve and other popular golfing regions usually offer more spacious accommodations, often closer to U.S. standards. Beds may be slightly smaller or arranged as two twins pushed together, and bathrooms may feature compact layouts or walk-in showers. Portuguese resorts excel in creating a luxurious and relaxing experience for golfers, with high-quality service, excellent on-site dining, and convenient access to championship courses making them perfectly suited for travelers seeking top-notch golf and leisure combined. As hotel rates in Portugal are quite reasonably priced, we recommend opting for a 4-star or 5-star option as 3-star hotels are often a significant downgrade

Annual Temperature, Precipitation, and Daylight
The below chart contains the weather information that most golfers are interested in knowing when planning a trip to Portugal. The data below is for Lisbon. The weather in the Algarve is very similar. We organize golf trips to Portugal year round although not many travel in January, February, or March. Weather is only one of the factors to consider when planning a trip. Be sure to get advice from your Golf Travel Advisor on the other factors (e.g., course closures and availability). Don't make the mistake of choosing your month of travel only based on the weather!
