Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, or Deal as it’s often known, was the third English golfclub to host The Open after its neighbor Royal St George’s and Royal Liverpool. The club regularly hosts R&A championships and has recently staged The Amateur, The Boys Amateur and Final Qualifying for The Open. Deal isa true test of championship links golf. Its final seven holes are relentless, often playing straight into the prevailing wind.

Fun Fact:
During both World Wars, the course was taken over by the military. In World War II, Deal’s proximity to the coast made it a defensive position — bunkers were converted into machine-gun nests, and parts of the course were filled with barbed wire and anti-tank obstacles. After the war, the course had to be almost completely restored before play could resume.
Host To:
The Open – 1909, 1920, The Amateur Championship – 1923, 1982, & 2013
