Overview

Cape Kidnappers is the top ranked public access course in New Zealand. Built on a roughly 6,000 acre acre piece of ocean cliff farmland in the gorgeous Hawkes Bay wine country, this Tom Doak golf course is a must play on any New Zealand golf package.

The adjacent lodge property, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, is a fantastic country chic property and combines for a superb golf vacation. The Farm is the hotel component of the resort with superb “six-star” suites with oversize living spaces and million dollar views across the 6000 acre ranch and Pacific Ocean. Every imaginable amenity is included in the stunning suites, and your overnight rate include breakfast and a multiple course gourmet dinner each day, along with pre-dinner cocktails. So if you want the best accommodations in the Hawkes Bay area, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers is clearly the best choice, although nearby hotels in Napier or Hastings can suffice too. The private drive from the Cape Kidnappers entrance gate to the golf clubhouse takes about 20 minutes and is reminiscent of “Big Sur on steroids”. Everywhere you look are wide open expanses and never ending Hawkes Bay (Pacific Ocean) views. Players can walk, take a caddie or cart and enjoy this superb course opened in 2004, but be careful of the giant cliffs and the winds off the ocean. Cape Kidnappers is generally considered among the top five courses in the Southern Hemisphere.
